Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join an exciting project with our client in Tampere, who is active in the electric vehicle charging infrastructure domain. The role is highly hands-on and onsite, as it involves working closely with physical charging station hardware.

In this position, you will contribute to backend systems that support EV charging operations, with a focus on standards like OCPI/OCPP, cloud integrations, and high-performance services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services for electric vehicle charging systems.
  • Work onsite with physical equipment, ensuring integration between software and hardware.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement OCPP/OCPI protocol standards.
  • Build scalable systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Support system reliability, testing, and potential integration with payment solutions.

Required Skills

  • Backend development experience (minimum 3 years)
  • Strong knowledge of OCPP or OCPI communication standards
  • Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Proactive mindset and ability to work independently in an onsite setting

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with payment systems integration
