Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior System Architect to join our client in the banking sector. The role involves shaping and evolving the architecture for core banking technology and infrastructure, contributing to key documentation, and working closely with multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality IT solutions aligned with strategic business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document Information Systems and Platform Enabler Capabilities and problem spaces
  • Contribute to core architectural documents such as System Design Documents (SDD) and Technical Requirements and Risk Reports (TRRD)
  • Stay updated with latest IT technologies and best practices to ensure ongoing professional development
  • Identify architecture improvements to reduce complexity, lower costs, improve agility, mitigate risks, and enhance business capabilities
  • Lead and participate in IT system and infrastructure design efforts, ensuring adherence to architecture governance
  • Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps related to Core Banking technology and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Release Train Engineers to drive technology solution delivery
  • Govern architectural principles, best practices, and common change initiatives to maintain high-quality IT solutions
  • Participate in solution reviews aligned with value-driven IT strategies
  • Define, track, and manage Non-Functional Requirements across delivery cycles
  • Coach and support developers, platform, operations, and infrastructure teams on best practices, including non-functional requirements, site reliability, monitoring, root cause analysis, and technology standards

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven stakeholder management in IT technology domains
  • Strong banking background, preferably with Core Banking transformation experience
  • Solid business knowledge related to banking
  • Proficient in IT solution architecture, infrastructure, and technical architecture
  • Excellent conceptual thinking and integration architecture skills
  • Familiarity with the following key technologies is expected:
    • Hadoop
    • Kafka
    • Cloudera
    • IBM MQ
    • Oracle Exadata and RAC (Oracle Cloud @customer)
    • Advanced network monitoring
    • Kubernetes
    • Defining Non-Functional Requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Temenos T24/Transact Core Banking system
  • Platforms as a Service (cloud-ready platform hosting)
  • Database concepts, Oracle preferred
  • Integration principles and technologies (OSB, MQ, WebLogic, etc.)
  • Operating systems (RedHat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server)
  • Networking (Cisco)
  • Load balancing technologies (Citrix NetScaler, F5)
  • Security technologies (JWT, client certificates, OpenID Connect)
  • Microservices and containerization
  • Agile methodologies (SAFe preferred)
  • Continuous integration and development pipelines
  • Configuration as Code and Infrastructure as Code

Additional Details

  • Assignment start date: 1.6.2025
  • Consultant can be located anywhere within Finland, Denmark, Norway, or Sweden
  • Up to 75% remote work allowed
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Occasional onsite presence may be required
